Early on the morning of Sunday, 17th December 2017, His Eminence Panteleimon, Metropolitan of Congo-Brazzaville and Gabon, accompanied by the Reverend Fr. Pail Diafouka and Hierodeacon Stefanos Anzembé, went from the city of Dolisie to the city of Nkayi, the fourth largest in population in the country, for a pastoral visit to the Parish Community of the Transfiguration of the Lord.  

Immediately after his arrival, His Eminence conducted the Divine Liturgy and preached the homily. He also gave clothing and little icons  as well as the Holy Metropolis of Brazzaville pocket Diary for 2018 to the entire congregation

The condition of the half-completed church, for the completion of which He then had a lengthy meeting with the Church Council and the faithful regarding general spiritual life and the pastoral activities of the Parish, as well as regarding about 25,000 euros worth of work is needed. The meeting closed with the anticipatory prayer of the parishioners through their Parish Priest Fr. Dimitrios Otomba, for the revelation of those people who will undertake the costs for the consolidation of Orthodoxy in the broader region.

After the end of the meeting, His Eminence departed by road for the See of the local Church, in Pointe-Noire, Congo-Brazzaville.
